Three unexpected benefits of working out!
You probably have a vague sense that exercise is good for you! Heart Health, brain health, spiritual health, alone is not motivation enough for you to exercise on a regular basis. It is medically proven that people who engage in regular activity have 35% lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke, 50% lower risk of type 2 diabetes, 50% lower risk of colon cancer, 20% lower risk of breast cancer, 30 % lower risk of early death, and 30 % lower risk of falls (among the elderly)
Whatever your age is it is never too late to start exercising – just get up and move!
With the technology we have today only 20% of Americans get the recommended 125-150 min of strength and cardio per week. More than 50 % of all baby boomers report doing no exercise at all. 80.2 million Americans over age 6 are entirely inactive. This is very alarming!!
The reason most people exercise is to lose weight losing sight of all the unexpected benefits that will keep you out of the doctor’s office and a cabinet full of medications, that brings with it a plethora of other complications.
Inactivity is described by the department of health as a “silent Killer” This is the modern world partly because technology has made our lives easier by doing everything for us like the Roomba turn it on and it vacuums the floor for us, back in my grandmothers and mothers day these woman were strong because they did everything by hand including washing, ringing and hanging their families laundry. Now we have machines that do it for us.
So here are three unexpected effects of exercise
1- Brain Power – increases serotonin levels which leads to mental clarity, umping your libido, improved mood, memory, better sleep.
2- Gives you energy to tackle life’s challenges in a more positive way, so you will be more productive at work and your stamina will carry you throughout the rest of the day.
3- Relive stress, build confidence, walk strong in your power, you will look and feel amazing. You will transform your life and emanate that positive energy out into the world. A small study even shows that moderate to heavy exercise may slow down the aging process, your skin will look healthier as it releases harmful toxins.
Last focus on Quality of Life not just weight loss.
No more excuses make time for physical activity it’s a matter of life and death!!
